"Augmented Reality: Opportunities and Future Directions" looks into the future of experience.
The advent of mobile computing heralds a new and brilliant age of technology--one far more social, mobile, seamless, and satisfying than the PC age could ever be. Augmented Reality (AR) is the next logical step in mobile computing. AR is heralded as the 8th mass medium; and it is projected that 1B people will be using AR by the end of this decade. This talk will focus on the current applications for AR, as well as future directions and opportunities.
Adam Gerber is an independent software and strategy consultant focusing on mobile strategy and Android. He has been developing software for close to 20 years and has worked with Java since its inception. Adam has developed Android apps for Intel, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Discovery Healthcare, Zebra Technologies, and others. He also teaches both Java Programming and Android Application Development in the CS Masters Program at the University of Chicago and is active in the Chicago Android community.
